There is an opinion that varicose veins are considered a female disease.
However, for several years now more than 55% of the total number of patients have been visiting our clinic.The male gender does not care about the aesthetic side: they are not afraid of spider veins or critically swollen veins, which is why many patients still postpone a visit to the doctor for "later".
This can be explained by the fact that initially varicose veins manifest themselves weakly, and the stronger sex often leave this disease to chance.Over time, the disease causes more and more discomfort: heaviness in the legs, pain, swelling of the veins, the appearance of blood clots and ulcers.There are also accompanying diseases of the veins, the treatment of which is treated with surgery.
Treatment of varicose veins
Methods and time of treatment of varicose veins in each patient depend on the degree of neglect, examinations and health condition.
In the initial stage
Hardware massage of the lower extremities— pressotherapy (also called intermittent pneumocompression or hardware lymphatic drainage for varicose veins).The cosmetologist uses the device to select the optimal regimen that is individually recommended for the patient at a certain stage of the disease and indications.The device applies wave pressure to the patient's legs (alternating high and low), which forces blood and lymph to actively circulate through the affected tissues.The session lasts about 40 minutes.The procedure can be done at any age, men and women.Immediately after the session you can return to your daily activities.
Sclerotherapy.Treatment of varicose veins without surgery.A medicine is injected that joins the canal walls.The procedure is painless.After the operation, it is mandatory to wear special textiles and walk for an hour.The procedure is performed without anesthesia.Injections do not leave scars.
Compression jersey (socks, tights and socks).Selected individually.Anti-varicose underwear looks similar to classic underwear, but there are no seams.The fabric consists of nylon, microfiber and lycra.The fabric is breathable and pleasant to the touch.More information and recommendations for selection in the article - Compression socks: how to choose, compression class, sizes.

In advanced stages
Laser coagulation.Insertion of the light guide into the affected vessel using a single puncture without incisions.Radiation occurs at the damaged area by soldering.Laser light heats the affected walls of blood vessels and varicose formations, closing the dilated vessel.This procedure does not require hospitalization.Immediately after that, the patient can go home on his own.
Miniphlebectomy.Varicose veins are removed by punctures.This technique is used to remove suprafascially located tributaries of any diameter.Local anesthesia is used.The essence of this method is the removal and removal of varicose veins using special hooks from separate 1-2 mm skin punctures.Veins are not ligated, punctures do not require suturing, and hemostasis is achieved by elastic compression.After a few months, the postoperative scars on the skin are practically invisible.
Compression garments for varicose veins
In the early stages and after treatment, men are recommended to wear compression garments that are chosen individually.Anti-varicose underwear looks similar to classic underwear, but there are no seams.The fabric consists of nylon, microfiber and lycra.The fabric is breathable and pleasant to the touch.
The compression jersey for men is divided into:
- Stockings for varicose veins;
- tights if both legs are affected;
- knee socks if the disease is on the calves or just above the knees.
You need to buy underwear at the first sign of illness.
Tips for wearing compression stockings:
- Carefully put on the underwear so as not to tear the product.
- File your fingernails and toenails to avoid tearing your underwear.
- Put it on in the morning, without waiting for it to swell.
- Remove the compression garment before going to bed.
- If it is difficult for an overweight patient to put on compression garments independently, it is recommended to get a device to wear them.
- Wash the clothes in warm water with baby soap.To prevent water from getting on the silicone, tighten the upper part with a thread, and clean the elastic band with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.
